KACP's Annual Training & Accreditation Award Conference

The 53rd. Kentucky Association Chiefs of Police State Conference will be held August 10th – 14th, 2025 in Covington, Kentucky. It is graciously hosted by John Christmann, Chief of Police of the Southgate Police Department, and representative of the Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police.

The KACP annual training conference provides an opportunity to network with your peers, browse the largest law enforcement vendor show in Kentucky and receive quality training. The association also partners with Local, State, and Federal agencies to provide timely information on topics of interest to Law Enforcement Executives.  Every year it is the responsibility of the 1st Vice President to host the annual conference.

Legislative Updates

KACP employs a legislative agent/lobbyist who, along with the KACP executive director, is actively engaged with Kentucky lawmakers and administration officials in Frankfort.  Our legislative affairs team, which is often augmented with participation from KACP officers and board members, is in Frankfort during the General Assembly’s legislative sessions; monitors and proposes legislation; supports legislation that benefits law enforcement and opposes bills that do not; regularly attends and often testifies at meetings of legislative committees dealing with law enforcement legislation and issues; often with closely with organizations that share similar agendas, including...

Accreditation Program for Law Enforcement & Dispatch Centers

The Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police Accreditation Program is intended to provide law enforcement agencies and dispatch centers of the Commonwealth with an avenue for demonstrating that they meet commonly accepted professional standards for efficient and effective operations.  Law Enforcement executives who choose to have their agencies accredited under this program have examined all aspects of their operations. They have made conscious decisions about policies and procedures that fit the law enforcement requirements of their jurisdictions and have implemented those policies and trained their employees in their use.  Accreditation reflects that the agency was carefully measured against an established set of standards and has met or exceeded professionally accepted practices in law enforcement.
